Position Description:
As a Human Factors Specialist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team,
which is a critical driving force behind applying human-centered design within
product development. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product
management, marketing and end users to create safe and usable medical
devices.
Position Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight and collaborate with internal and external partners to plan,
execute and document human factors activities across the product develop-
ment lifecycle within the constraints of a regulated environment.
• Generate and prototype hardware and software user interface design
concepts for complex medical devices.
• Plan and conduct end user evaluations of concepts and final products,
analyze data, document results; and present design recommendations to the
product development team.
• Support the creation and establishment of a company-wide usability enginee-
ring process and human factors design guidelines.
Position Requirements:
• Solid academic background in Human Factors Engineering/Design or related
field (Masters’ degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction,
Industrial Design, Ergonomics or related field).
• 3-5 years of experience and a proven track record (portfolio) in applying
human-centered design for hardware and software user interfaces.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash,
Blend).
• Knowledge of product (hardware and software) development processes.
• Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to handle multiple
assignments and perform in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
• Previous experience in medical device industry would be a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English.
